Where the tool helps

Grammarly’s official tone tools describe suggestions based on phrasing and word choice. Its writing assistant also supports revision; the author still decides which changes preserve the intended voice.

A practical creative workflow

  1. Draft the premise, stakes and genre signal before asking for corrections.
  2. Check whether the opening line invites the right reader.
  3. Review suggestions individually and reject edits that remove personality.
  4. Read the blurb aloud, remove spoilers and keep the final promise accurate.

What still needs human judgement

Do not let generic adjectives carry the pitch. A specific conflict or memorable detail gives a reader something to picture. Grammar software does not validate the plot, positioning or claims about sales. Keep the final text consistent across your cover, author page and promotional videos.
